When I use this command..
I get an error saying "could not display /media/cdrom0/Vmwaretools-9.2.2-893683.tar.gz" and it says the Drive is read only.
Is toor the password you setup for your account? I had the same problem but I signed in by using root and the password I setup for the name/password for my account.
login as other, "root" as username (without quotes) and then type in the password you setup during install
