Since no one has answered what I think is a trivial question, is the only way to sleep kali v2 through the terminal? Forgive me if a quick google search would yield the answer, but I have been...
I can't, for the life of me, figure out how to sleep my new Kali V2 install. I press the power button but only see restart and shut down.
Did you try using apt-get install linux-headers-'INSERT_KERNEL_NAME_HERE', rather than apt-get install linux-headers$(uname -r)?
Edit:
You can find your kernel name by using uname -r.
Same issue here, but, nevertheless, the guest additions end up installing and functioning correctly.
I've figured it out. I tried as @sapiens suggested, but it did not work. However, I then did sudo uname -r, copied the kernel name, then did sudo apt-get install...
I've tried commenting my original sources.list, adding both of these two lines together, as well as adding them in separately, but both times I get the error:
Reading package lists... Done...
I am getting this in my 3 VM's, along with my main Kali Desktop. A temporary solution for Virtualbox, for example, is to boot into the 3.7 kernel instead of the 3.12, so that the Virtualbox Guest...
I'm getting the exact same problem. A fresh install didn't fix it. I've already tried different sources, but nothing seems to work; any ideas? I will keep trying sources and report back.
Edit:...
I've just realized that the repositories which are of the form http://security.kali.org/, are still downloading very slowly. Will changing these to repo also work? Or is there a different type of...
I've found a solution: simply change the sources.list file, making sure to change the entries where it says http://http.kali.org to http://repo.kali.org.

I am getting ridiculously slow download speeds whenever I try either apt-get update, or apt-get upgrade, etc. My internet connection is relatively fast, but I am getting speeds of 15 kB/seconds. I...
Weird. Did you get any errors?
I just fixed it. Basically, just open a text editor to /etc/adjtime and delete the line which says LOCAL, switching it to UTC.
I used this: http://samiux.blogspot.com/2013/03/howto-nvidia-display-card-on-kali-linux.html for the most trouble-free method.
Hello, I am triple booting with Windows 7, OSX Mountain Lion, and Lali Linux. I have added the RealTimeIsUniversal registry key in windows in order to change the time to UTC; when I switch from OSX...
