Hi,

Trying to use a Huawei Internet dongle I've just discovered that the Kali's usb-modeswitch version, 1.2, is outdated.

What I've done:

1. I've checked it with the latest Debian version,7.6, and it works without any issues.

2. I've dug around and I've founded this: http://pkg.kali.org/pkg/usb-modeswitch. Apparently this new version is under kali's guy attention although don't know when it will be available.

3. I've got the sources from debian's repository website and I've tried to build a package. Still so the kali, 1.0.9a, is still complain about the libc6 version which has to be higher than what is installed right now.

Somehow I can go further and do some manual work but I've stopped. I don't want to screw up my kali install right now.

Bottom line, please, can you have this update available through repos? A lot of new hardware became available and the older version of usb-modeswitch ain't capable to handle it.

Thanks,

-J
