Hey,
So I have an HP ElitePro 705 G1 with an 1GB Asus Radeon R7 250 in it. The machine worked before with an Asus HD5240. With the new card, I did a fresh install of Kali. But GDM wouldn't load. I could do a CTRL + ALT + F2 and get tty2 no problem, but the GUI won't load. So I did some searching and people had success with loading the live CD and doing an install from there. Well I'm getting the same problem. All I have is a _ in the top left of my screen and it's solid, no blinking.
I looked at the logs and it's showing no supported resolution. So I'm fairly certain it's the card. Has anyone else seen this issue? I'm honestly not even sure where to begin. I tried installing the AMD drivers but it behaves the same. I've installed Kali many many times and this is the first time I'm getting this issue.
