    what I mean by full installation is to complete the installation, as you described above....

    Are you using the wifi?...Try using the ethernet and retry...If your wifi needs a firmware and you do not have it in an external device (usb), you wont get access to the internet....It could be another issue.

    Nor is the post you referenced my post:

    I got an error at the configure the package manager usning a mirror when installing the latest Kali Linux on Intel.
    Tried both with and without entering proxy details.
    I am running on WLAN.

    I skipped that part and completed the installation.

    What could be the problem and
    is it possible to install the packets after the installation is completed?
