Adding persistence failed

Hi,
I m completly new with linux and kali (windows user) and don’t know so much about computer…

What have you tried: I tried to follow the " Adding Persistence to a Kali Linux Live USB Drive’’ procedure.

What is the error: Instead of doing the code in the USB ( /dev/sdX) I did it in my hard drive. This destroyed my windows and all my data.

What device is this on: I am now on ubuntu and a friend of mine managed to get back my partition. I tried to get back my data with testdisk but hadn’t succeed yet ?

Is it possible ? How could I ?

First time using a forum in my life. If i did anything wrong please tell me.

Sorry to hear that, and on top of that your question isn’t exactly kali related since you are now trying data recovery from a windows system (an entirely different problem)

As to the other problem, adding persistence to a kali linux usb live stick, this is documented here.
