It does only fail on mono-project.com though, right? Might be an unrelated issue (unrelated to the Kali keys anyway?)

Well, as far as mono is concerned, you could try some of the suggestions mentioned on github. I’m not familiar with that tool.
Also, for now it looks like it might just be a warning message, is there anything not working on your system that you are trying to use?
looks like you need to update the mono signatures.
