Alfa AWUS036AXML not working in dual boot

What have you tried: followed alfa instruction guide for alfa awus036axml on linux

What is the error: alfa awus036axml not working

What device is this on: Dual boot with windows

I installed Kali Linux using dual boot with Windows, but I just can’t seem to get my Alfa AWUS036AXML to work. When I plug in my Wi-Fi adapter, it repeatedly connects and disconnects until it eventually disconnects completely.
lsusb takes a long time to respond while the adapter is repeatedly connecting and disconnecting. Also, when I switch back to Windows, the Wi-Fi adapter stops working there as well, but I can get it working again by reinstalling the drivers.
How does Kali Linux affect my Wi-Fi adapter’s drivers for Windows? Kali Linux shouldn’t even be able to interact with Windows drivers because it’s a dual boot setup.

The ALFA AWUS036AXML, is based on the MediaTek MT7921AUN. MediaTek wireless devices have a bad reputation when it comes to Linux drivers.

What? No they don’t. Realtek has the bad reputation. Mediatek is generally built into the kernel.
