Hello World! Yeah so, I am running Kali live from a usb and I have enabled the persistence storage. I’m incredibly thankful for Kali and have absolutely no complaints. My only regret is that I did not get involved with Linux 30 years ago. I am eager to learn pentesting, just as a hobby. Is anyone willing to train me in the Kali way? And also, if I do not know anything in the world, I know how to follow orders, instructions etc. “To follow the path, look to the Master.”
Linux 30 years ago was far more ‘hands on’ than it is now, many things ‘just work’ today, that would have needed you to compile your own binaries 30 years ago, and all configuration was done by editing text files to set things up.
These days most distros use GUI set up programs and things like device drivers are often ‘in kernel’ and your hardware will simply work without any intermediate steps.
Anyway, as for starting out, this has been asked before on the forum so;
I like your post. I’m far from knowing much but would be happy to help if I can. So if you’re keen to share, we can start it from there.

Yeah so I’ve been spending an incredible amount of time with Linux. Kali is my latest endeavor. I have Ubuntu on one device, Debian on another and I am running Kali live usb with persistence. Its a profoundly interesting distro. So I’m just doing all this for a hobby and to absorb as much knowledge and information that I can. When I go to sleep, Linux is the last thing in my mind. And when I wake up, Linux is the first thing on my mind. I’m doing a lot of Bash scripting and also Nano and Vim scripting. There is so much to learn. I abandoned windows and devoted to Linux. I believe it’s the future off technology. But learning and writing scripts is great and I’ll advance with Kali.
You have given me a plethora of information to learn from. I am incredibly thankful my friend. So much to learn with so little time in life. t
Thanks Fred!!!
