you can install CPU-Z from Google Play store. It’s free with ads. In the systems tab you can see your kennel architecture, e.g. aarch64 or arm64. There are generic images for both versions, if your device is not officially supported (yet).
thx for your prompt response. i’m unable to do that what are some other ways.
and more importantly, if i have an arm64, then it will support nethunterpro right? it makes no sense why the system requirements would list phone model #'s as theres a million phone brand/model’s out there ya know?
thx
Any reasonably recent android phone will have an arm64 chip in it, and by recent, I mean anything released in the last 10 years!
this is my first post. can someone please tell me how to close it? i don’t like forums because they go off topic fast and ignore questions.
i’ve had to ask the same question twice and got no answer.
The list of phones are the ones that have a specific kali linux kernel compiled for nethunter, and typically you would unlock the bootloader on them too (means you are then able to use root options that can use wifi fully etc) other phones not listed can install and use nethunter, even non-rooted phones with locked bootloaders, but not all the nethunter tools will fully work on such devices as the bootloader will not allow full access to the hardware.
hi fred. thx for your prompt response. so i guess that means maybe it will work
so i think everyone would agree that it would be too much work to go that route, no problem.
please let me know if this will work FOR SURE;
putting net hunter pro on a micro sd card and then booting the android phone off of that (assuming the arm64 android phone is not on the list of supported devices for netrhunter pro)
thx for reading
It seems you weren’t really listening here - no, it will not work FOR SURE.
Also, first you asked for nethunter, now you ask for nethunter pro. Those are not the same thing.
Here is the list of devices that support nethunter pro FOR SURE. Since you didn’t give us any information about your smartphone, no one here can tell whether it is one of those devices.
Other android devices may or may not already have a specific kernel built for nethunter (and we are not talking nethunter pro here), the list can be found with this link
Other devices may work, they may need to have a kernel built for it. This may be something that you have to do yourself.
hi e,
whats the diff btw nethunter and nethunter pro
before we move on - so theres only 2 versions of nethunter for android?;
nethunter
nethunter pro
thanks for sending the links for the nethunter pro supported android devices, but i don’t see the equivalent for nethunter. can you please send a link
thx
You can only ask that question, when you really never read about nethunter on the kali website. I suggest you do your own reading there before you ask for stuff that is already documented
There is also nethunter light… honestly… just read up on it.
I already sent you a link with information about supported kernels and subsequent list of devices… this might mean they work right out of the box, this might mean that for some of them manual compiling is necessary to make them work.
its an unclear website which is why this forum exists. i’ll prove it;
why isn’t nethunter pro listed on this site;
i just want to know what are the supported devices for rootless/lite/nh/pro, and now you are giving me a link to kernels. why aren’t you giving me links to devices.
this is impossible to figure out
Its not impossible to ‘figure out’ your just not looking, and you want to be spoon fed.
First, most phones aren’t listed as a ‘samsung A7’ for example, but by there development name they were given by the company when they were being designed, so ‘samsung a7lteskt’ would be the name, for example. You need to find out the information from your own phone you have, including its specs, as they can change between models and countries, this can be as basic as the baseband frequencies the phone uses for the mobile network etc, and can often also be carrier specific. If you have a ‘non network’ model, it will normally be easier to unlock etc.
The kernel lists do tell you which phone they are for, you need to find out if they are usuable or not, or create your own if none are available. Sometimes a new kernel may lack support for some things your phone does as standard, i.e. perhaps a camera won’t work, or certain functions are basic.
I’ve had many ‘non manufacturer’ ROM’s on android phones, most are pretty good, some not so. If you had spent some time trying more mainstream non standard ROM’s like lineage OS, you wouldn’t be asking these questions.
