Boot from live USB failing, help please!

What have you tried:
I have tried mounting the image to my USB using 3 different mounting programs (Rufus, Etcher, and Universal USB Installer) as well as having tried to create the USB by following the step by step guide on Kali’s website for trying to set it up inside of a Linux distro using a virtual machine (Oracle VirtualBox, if it matters.) Every time I’ve tried to set up the persistence as well. Each time, it fails with the same error on boot, seen in the attached picture.

What is the error:

What device is this on:

I’m on an Acer Nitro 17
AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ 780M graphics
NVidia RTX4060
And my USB is a SanDisk Cruze Glide 32GB

Any help is greatly appreciated! TIA

first just create a live boot USB and see if it boots OK on your system, if you want persistence, you can set it up later.

did you disable secure boot in the BIOS?

I understand this post originated in 2024, and I would like to think you are no longer plagued with this problem. If this is solved; could you please give me any insights?
I get a weird vibe from the zsh issue I face and are piecing together a hypothesis where many disparate breakdowns I read about might have zsh in common.

You should start your own topic if you are having zsh issues, zsh is just one terminal shell of several you could use, have you changed the zsh config in any way from default?
