Help with Kali Wi-Fi on VirtualBox

Title: Help with Kali Wi-Fi on VirtualBox (No wlan0 showing)

Message:

Hi everyone,

I’m using Kali Linux on VirtualBox (latest version) on my ASUS TUF F16 laptop, However, Kali doesn’t show wlan0 at all — only eth0 (wired) shows up.

I’ve tried the following:

Ran iwconfig, ip a, dmesg | grep -i wlan → no wireless interface shows up
Installed firmware-iwlwifi → already installed
BIOS checked, Wi-Fi is enabled
In Windows (dual boot), I see Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201
I understand that VirtualBox can’t use internal Wi-Fi, and I don’t have a USB Wi-Fi adapter yet

:brain: I want to ask:
Is there any way to use internal Wi-Fi in VirtualBox?
Or should I buy a specific USB Wi-Fi adapter that works with Kali?
Any recommended adapter models that support monitor mode and packet injection?
Is there a better virtual machine (like VMware or live USB) that allows full Wi-Fi access without adapter?

Thanks :folded_hands:

No. You will need an external adapter for accessing wifi in a vm.
USB-WiFi/home/The_Short_List.md at main · morrownr/USB-WiFi · GitHub here is the recommended list of adapters that you can look. Avoid the realtek ones
