Is it good to buy new macbook to run kali as VM or i have to keep running it on windows as VM?
Yeah, the new M series works pretty good. We support an image for a VM install and it can work faster than on other systems even. There are a few VM options you can go with, but it is worth trying them out as they all work pretty fast and are different experiences than windows VMs. Parallels in particular is worth looking into.
How about the free alternatives like vmware fusion, virtualbox or utm?
vmware fusion is the best VM software I’ve used on Macs and the pro version is now free for individual users.
virtual box works well, utm can be a bit hit or miss sometimes, its better with windows than linux from my experience.
try them all and find the one you like best
