are you running Kali in a VM?
You may have to give more disk space to the VM in the VM settings manager.
Yes. am running kali on VM box.. if it’s possible to edit the storage on virtualbox?
It is, the VM needs to be fully switched off (i.e Kali would need to be fully shutdown itself), and then in the VM settings manager you can usually increase VM machine disk size. Then, when booted back into Kali, from GParted you should be able to expand the disk space Kali is using into this new ‘blank’ disk space you just created.
I know its not ideal, but sometimes it can be easier to just set up a new VM with the correct options at install time.
Most VM software tends to be quite conservative with its default machine settings, especially with a Linux guest.
The CPU settings should be set to no more than 50% of your ‘physical cores’ (4 core chip, set 2 cores for the guest cpu for example)
Same for RAM no more than 50% of physical memory, if using a Windows System for the host, maybe even slightly less if you have less than 8 GB RAM
Hard disk space for Kali I usually use at least 20 GB so I don’t have any issues later, and if you wanted the ‘Kali everything’ set up, you would need a lot more than that (from memory last time I tried that Kali took up nearly 60GB of the 80 GB VM disk size I used)
