Kali Linux install error please hlep me

followed steps to make directory
mkdir chroot
mv kali-arm64/ chroot/
Then it works but I get errors when doing the apt update and apt upgrade

I use a rootless phone and had same issue. I’m no expert in this since this has been a recent venture of mine.

Here’s how I fixed it.

Since you already ran the script so far as to have that message, it created an kali-arm64 directory.

You need to do as Doughboy81 says:

  • mkdir /chroot/
  • mv kali-arm64 /chroot/ (assuming everything has ran so far without you running cd elsewhere except $HOME)

If that does work, then here’s what helped me:

  • nano. /install-nethunter-termux (you need to edit the script in the line where the error displays. There is a path that points to the resolv.conf file. You need to rewrite that path so it looks like this “/chroot/kali-arm64/ect/resolv.conf”, without the ")

Then you save and rerun the script.

What’s happening is that it looks for the file in a location where that file isn’t, so you need to edit the script so it points to the correct direction.

None of it worked
But I found another option. I installed andronix installed Kali through there and now everything works perfectly upgrades zero errors. I think someone really ■■■■■■ up Kali’s system somewhere this I see is coming up alot now people are having alot of issues

Kudos for the alternative solution you presented.

I agree, I’ve seen this particular issue on many threads, especially github.

I myself am experiencing inability for upgrade using apt due to some version mismatch dependencies with perl and other packages.

Get that then download kali nethunter through there and it works updates 100 percent

use github or play store version?

I think it was off andronix website, and I then got it off fdroid. I don’t think that matters for andronix

Then select kali and your good to go run your updates and upgrades and should work

Download kali-linux only from official website kali.org
Check the iso hash
If you’re trying to install Kali in a container or special environment, consider using the official Kali Linux containers or WSL versions

Question: If I download the complete Nethunter on my cell phone, what will it change in my system? I’m afraid of doing this and damaging my daily-use cell phone.

I can not stress this enough - Do not play with NetHunter on your every day cell phone. Go and buy a second hand 100% compatible phone and use that.

You will get a refurbished One Plus 7 for about $150, maybe cheaper. It is guaranteed to work and you don’t risk messing up your day to day phone.

Just my two cents.

I know that, for now I’m thinking about buying a new cell phone for myself, and after transferring everything from this other one to the old one I’ll use nethunter on the old one
