What have you tried: updating kali linux

What is the error: time out and my system can’t reach Amazon AWS server

What device is this on: hp laptop

Hi @scott although I think there could be mainly 3 possible reasons, first your internet connection, server side issues and third using any VPN or Proxy.

You can try these troubleshooting:

  1. Check Internet Connection
  2. Check for DNS Issues
  3. Check AWS Server Accessibility
  4. Update the Repository Mirrors
  5. Disconnect any VPN or Proxy if you are using.
  6. Clear the Cache and Retry

sudo apt clean
sudo apt update

  1. Try Updating with Different Mirrors

on kali-tweaks try switching to cloudfare mirrors and see if it works
