Kali-tweaks virtualization not detected

What have you tried:

  • Googles, no resolution found
  • systemd-detect-virt none
  • lspcu shows Virtualization: VT-x
  • Double checked BIOS virtualization is enabled
  • Note: this issue does not effect me running VMware 17 (flawless)

What is the error:
“Virtualization not detected”

Are you running it inside the guest or on the host?

systemd-detect-virt — Detect execution in a virtualized environment

Note the wording “in a virtualized environment”.

I ran the command from my Kali host. For clarity of my lab setup. I run kali on a 500GB ext ssd, with vmware installed.

Now that is not a visualized environment is it…
I repeat “in a virtualized environment”
Run the command on the guest.
