Kali Youtube lags

Youtube videos running smoothly only when muted, soon as I unmute them they start laging. What’s wrong?
Thank you for any help.

Is this perhaps in a vmware virtual machine?

Care to provide any details about your system and installation?

Yep, Kali Rolling 2024.4 on VMware Fusion 13.6.2 inside Macbook macOS sequoia 15.1.1. Network Adapter is set to NAT.

I’m afraid thats an issue that stems from vmware, and people experience it with all kinds of linux distributions they virtualize.

Apparently not everyone, and some people said they fixed their situation with certain tweaks, but those same tweaks didn’t work for others. So far no one I know of has spend a long time troubleshooting it, since it’s usually an easy fix to watch youtube videos on the host machine instead.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, the issue is more complex. YouTube is just part of the network connectivity problems. I’m referring to Kali Linux that can’t connect to a virtual Windows 11 installed on the same VMware Fusion. Pinging Windows 11 shows “host unreachable,” and when checking with an IP scanner on my Mac, I see two groups of machines: physical and virtual, where the third octet of IP addresses for virtual machines differs from physical machines. Additionally, the IP scanner on my Mac detects all devices on the home LAN, while nmap on Kali detects only two (Kali and virtual Windows 11), same result using netdiscover.

You already started a post about that entirely different problem, I was just answering to the one you postulated here.

I would suggest to keep the other question in the other post - it’s incredibly frustrating otherwise.

In your other post you could certainly up the chance of someone answering if you provide some solid informations, preferably screenshots of the networks settings.

I guess most people ignored it cause its quite clearly not a kali related question - its something I would look at vmware resources to set up
