Keyboard errors

What have you tried: Going into kali settings

What is the error:My keyboard will not output correct value

What device is this on: Lenovo laptop

If i want the @ symbol i cant press shift the 2, i have to press shift then ’ to get the @.

When i need the stright line, and i press shift then back slash, it gives me tilda, then i press shift then `, it gives me ¬, when i press backslash , it gives me #, when i press shift 3, it gives me £, i have no clue what im doing wrong or how to fix it, but other shift combos work, like shift 6 gives me ^, and shift 7 gives me &.

Im very sorry for my spelling in this question.

Hello, have you tried reinstalling the hardware?

The hardweare? well no im on a laptop you see

Hi @clone45 I think changing the keyboard layout should solved the problem. You can change the layout to English (US) or a default layout by going to settings or by using terminal. Remove the incorrect layout if possible.

Just try this once and let me know the result.
