Hey everyone
I have a severe problem with the nethunter kernel installation.
I’m using a OnePlus 8 Pro, Europe Edition, and for several days now, I’m unable to flash the kernel originally compiled by Flypatriot.
What I did so far:
-I flashed TWRP for recovery
-root via Magisk 27000
-ro2rw
-checked with total commander and it is in fact rw and not ro anymore
-flashed nethunter via Magisk
Off we go to the “fun” part:
When I’m flashing the premade image from kali.org (2024.2 Version), the phone is basically nethunter lite. If I flash the kernel via TWRP afterwards (yes, I tried it with and without cleared Dalvik beforehand), I’m in bootloop. OnePlus Logo appearing on booting, then phone restarts after a couple of seconds… After 20 min, I had enough and started fastboot, switched to recovery and restored boot and DTOB.
Phone’s working fine again, but no kernel flashed.
Then I built a daily installer, which has the kernel inside already. If I flash this via Magisk, I can at least see the kernel installation process. When I start the nethunter app, there’s no custom kernel installed and neither is chroot. In the chroot tab, I hit install and it tries to download from a source website that’s not existing anymore. I downloaded the fullfs and tried installing it locally: doesn’t work.
At that point I switched back to 2024.2, so at least the nethunter app and chroot are working.
Then I tried to load the kernel via nethunter app… Also ended up in bootloop → restore via TWRP.
I tried it with different kernel versions, the crdroid version by Flypatriot and built from gitlab (only kernel).
What am I doing wrong? Did I miss something? Every help is appreciated
