I have a severe problem with the nethunter kernel installation.
I’m using a OnePlus 8 Pro, Europe Edition, and for several days now, I’m unable to flash the kernel originally compiled by Flypatriot.
What I did so far:
-I flashed TWRP for recovery
-root via Magisk 27000
-ro2rw
-checked with total commander and it is in fact rw and not ro anymore
-flashed nethunter via Magisk
Off we go to the “fun” part:
When I’m flashing the premade image from kali.org (2024.2 Version), the phone is basically nethunter lite. If I flash the kernel via TWRP afterwards (yes, I tried it with and without cleared Dalvik beforehand), I’m in bootloop. OnePlus Logo appearing on booting, then phone restarts after a couple of seconds… After 20 min, I had enough and started fastboot, switched to recovery and restored boot and DTOB.
Phone’s working fine again, but no kernel flashed.
Then I built a daily installer, which has the kernel inside already. If I flash this via Magisk, I can at least see the kernel installation process. When I start the nethunter app, there’s no custom kernel installed and neither is chroot. In the chroot tab, I hit install and it tries to download from a source website that’s not existing anymore. I downloaded the fullfs and tried installing it locally: doesn’t work.
At that point I switched back to 2024.2, so at least the nethunter app and chroot are working.
Then I tried to load the kernel via nethunter app… Also ended up in bootloop → restore via TWRP.
I tried it with different kernel versions, the crdroid version by Flypatriot and built from gitlab (only kernel).
What am I doing wrong? Did I miss something? Every help is appreciated
I am having the same issue with my onepro 8T none of the builds work I don’t know what I am missing it’s extremely unclear what I am missing I have also tried crdroid builds. Every time I boot I get errors or it won’t boot or boot loops. Very sad that I can’t find ANY support for oneplus 8T installation and I can put the device to any image version.
I have tried on and off for years, basically since it was officially supported. I`ve heard Android 11 is the way to go. Seems like OP8 is especially hard (compared to OP7 and such) to get a good install. Which is sad, the pro has a IR-cam with IR LED for “night vision”, and would be a great platform. All I want is Nethunter with monitor mode on internal\external NIC, HiD attack working, persistence, (installed on both partitions) and Kernel properly installed.
Access to the IR cam and IR light if possible. don’t know if that’s a kernel thing or a rom thing. but bringing back the A11 support would be nice
I ended up installing OOS 11, found in the archives… It worked, even the kernel installation via TWRP, but everything else is outdated and the nethunter store unusable (“not signed correctly” error).
Neither did I get help from any side and can’t find readjusted tutorials…
I hope that it will work with the upcoming release…
Stay strong, maybe our prayers will be heard and someone can fix or at least explain the problem
Hey guys!
After a lot of trial and error, I’ve been able to make it work on my OnePlus 8 Pro, but with OOS 11. Kernel flashed, with NetHunter 2025.2 and WiFi adapter working.
If you’re interested, I can make a new thread with detailed instructions. Be aware, that I have the IN2023 version (Europe/Asia) and won’t be able to guarantee it will apply for any other version (regional, OnePlus 8 or 8T, etc).
Hey gyus!
After a lot of trials and error, I’ve been able to achive two outcomes in Oneplus 8 Pro.
1] Install Nethunter version nethunter-2022.4-oneplus8-all-eleven-kalifs-full,
on OOS 11 (Android 11) with boot animation working.
2] Install Nethunter version kali-nethunter-2025.2-oneplus8-oos-twelve-full,
on OOS 12(Android 12) without boot animation.
Hey bro can you tell me which external wifi is best for nethunter?
Do all external wifi works or is there any specific type of external wifi that works?
Does Wifi + Bluetooth adapter works like this one link ?
