Unable to Set Display Resolution on Kali Linux with NVIDIA 8600 GT

Hi,

I’m currently facing a problem with my Kali Linux setup on my PC, which is a Targa Ultra An64 5000+ DC. I have an NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT graphics card and an Acer KA240HQ monitor. Unfortunately, I am unable to adjust the screen resolution.

I have tried both installing the necessary NVIDIA drivers and using the xrandr tool to change the resolution, but neither solution seems to work. The drivers don’t seem to function properly, and xrandr doesn’t provide the correct resolution options.

Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Best regards,

That is a fairly old card, so you will probably have to install the older driver versions, good article here;
