Upgrade from one kali release to the next without upgrading to the latest?

Hi,

Is it possible to upgrade a old Kali release to the next release without upgrading to the latest release?
So for example…
Is there a was to lets say from a fresh install of 2017.3 to upgrade it to 2018.1, without it jumpig to 2024.3?
Cant you point the apt sources.list to an archives release from old.kali.org??

I AM an LINUX user,
i try to build from scratch,
i am in need of getting right sources.list

I want to rebuild something called TELIVE,
who is made from MINT x86 32 Bits

I am going to use KALI, x64 as this NEW TELIVE

I want to download the FULL distro with extras!

As in NOW, i use WSL KALI!

Why not just download and install the 2018 version ISO you want to use?
