Long time ago , i had backtrack iso.
I copied its casper folder to a ext2 partition on my USB stick which has legacy grub installed on it.(BTW , its first partition is fat32 for keeping and deleting stuff)
Then I labelled that ext2 partition as casper-rw
I added following lines in /boot/grub/menu.lst (of that ext2 partition)
title backtrack
root (hd0,1)
kernel /casper/vmlinuz BOOT=casper boot=casper nopersistent rw quiet vga=0x317
initrd /casper/initrd.gz
Now I can run backtrack from USB stick .
QUESTION)Now I have kali-linux-2.0-i386.iso of 3.2 GB . I see that filesystem.squashfs is in live folder alongwith initrd.img and vmlinuz
I tried the old trick with casper replaced by live in above. It did not work .
Can you tell way to boot kali live with legacy grub ?
Please note that I found ways to boot from iso with grub2 , which is not my case .
Thanks.
